As the son of a college music professor and a classical pianist, I learned early on that music should be a positive part of life—not a chore.

I began my studies with my mother, then with Yamaha Piano School. Growing up in a musical family, my brother discovered I had perfect pitch when I was eight years old, leading my father to often showcase my talent for guests.

Following that foundation, I studied piano with fine teachers, completed college coursework, and earned a teaching credential in music, teaching piano in the evening.

For three years, I served our community teaching music in the Queen Creek School District and directing student performances at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center.

Over the course of my career, I have taught thousands of children of all grade levels.

Following my teaching time in the public schools, I turned my focus back to private piano instruction.

Traditional home practice is notoriously frustrating for families, and it is often a main concern for parents when considering lessons.

In 2021, I became aware of a new methodology that greatly reduces those home-practice struggles and accelerates progress. After seeing the impressive results that teachers were achieving with it, I took extensive training in it and adopted it for my studio. The results for my students have been wonderful.

My work in the public schools includes considerable experience in special education, which gave me a deep understanding of different learning styles, allowing me to bring an extra layer of patience, structure, and clarity to my lessons.

I pride myself on meeting students where they are, tailoring my approach to their unique strengths, and keeping our time together encouraging and engaging with a touch of humor.

When I am not teaching or playing for my local church, I am spending time with my family.

Music truly runs in our household—my daughter is also a piano teacher (in another town).

My wife, Michelle, is shown here with me and helps with various aspects of the studio to ensure our home environment is welcoming and organized for your child.
