About the Instructor

Hi! I'm Richard "Nat" Greer. I come from a very musical family. My father was a college music teacher, and my mother was a piano teacher and organist. All of my brothers and I play instruments and sing. At the age of five, I began studying piano and music theory at Yamaha Music School. I later studied with fine piano teachers in Southern California. In my teens, I studied organ with world-renowned organist and composer Richard Purvis.

I have taught piano lessons for many years. I received my teaching credential for General Music through Rio Salado College. I taught elementary General Music in the Queen Creek School District for three years. I also did substitute work at several districts in the area, which included a long-term assignment as orchestra teacher. I then returned to private teaching. I am organist at my church, a position I have held for many years. I have moonlighted as a piano tuner for many years. In addition, I also create and sell music lesson plans through my online store on Teachers Pay Teachers.
